copper is a better conductor of heat than aluminum. the copper XP90cu will gobble up the heat, and the fan will cool the heatsink.

the only advantage aluminum cooler has is price.

I have the Zalman 7700Cu, and it cools my CPU most excellent!

hope your power supply will feed all those fans and lights!! LOL shes gonna light up like a xmas tree! :P

Kewl new toys! you bought one of the best coolers!

I imagine that the copper one cools the better of the the two, the benefit of the aluminum one would be the less weight, 350g against 690g.

it wont provide a problem.. my system is flat anyways.. im hoping it cools better than 33°c idle and 45°c load, thats with 3 fans on the cpu however ;)

3c to 5c better under load/idle. i have a xp90c, xp90 and a xp120. the xp90c is the best i use a tornado 90mm for the 2 and a 120mm vantec stealth. I have use other louder 120's and i dont like how its hard to put on and off.

i got the tornado 92mm arriving as well.. but i do not like the sound levels on that thing... (i wont get it turning on until 50°c!! and maxing at 60)

ive just got my system running close to silent.. i can hear a clock behind the case ticking!! with low temps, im pretty chuffed, get this copper version, ill own! lmao

never had a system running this fast this quiet before

I have the XP-90c with the Thermaltake 92mm UFO fan ( 1st fan linked ) it works great .... and probably the Best AIR cooler currently on the market ... and i have tried a bunch of them .... i even have a Thermaltake Subzero TEC cooler in the closet ,,,,,,, what a POS that was ...... $ 150.00 down the drain and couldnt hold a candle to the XP-90c :mrsgreen:

I can't tell you the difference in temps, but I have the aluminum version and it's a whole lot lighter. On Idle it sits at 25c, using Artic Silver 5

On load running Prime 95 w 100% cpu load, I cant get it to go over 30c

That's running all day at idle, w/ Panaflow 58cfm 92mm fan @ 20% overclock.

So in answer to your question gordesky1, you won't go wrong with either one, especially with one of the newer core chips, cause they run cooler anyway.

If you don't mind the extra weight and extra cost the XP 90c is a good choice!

Xp-90c is a little heavier than the Aluminum but will perform better under load and still weighs less than the Zalman i had prior to it .......... if youre gonna go for it i recomend the 'C'

i have tried many HSF combos . and kept going back to the trusty old Zalman ,,, cause it worked ...... even had the XP120 but on my Abit board the 120 was such a pain to R&R ( required removal of the N/B HSF ) and was about 1 degree Celcius cooler to me it wasnt worth it . then i found the XP-90C and it works way better ........ especialy when Ambient temp is cool ,,, it's about 5c - 10c cooler than the Zalman and then when the fans cranked up even better

i knew it was a cooler HSF, but 10 degrees? :woot:

I have the 7700Cu, and it keeps idle temps at 28, now im wondering if i should get a xp90Cu

the Zalman i was reffering to was the 7000Cu . not sure how it does against the 120mm Zalman see Onecooll for that he had both i believe and is now using the XP-90c ............... i think ;)

looking at the Copper compared to aluminum there isnt much change accordording to a review. they only see it getting 2 degrees cooler while weighing much more. i personally am buying the aluminum one soon cause i move my case sometimes.
