i just installed a new sata drive on my a7n8x-e deluxe mobo, and i can't get windows installer to recognize the drive. it's installed, and the computer recognizes it, but why won't the windows installation program?

You need to hit F6 when windows setup asks you if you need to load a SCSI driver. More than likely that motherboard doesnt nativly support the SATA controller. Yo will have to have the driver on a floppy for windows setup to find it. Hopefully your mother board came with a floppy with the driver on it.

that is correct . but when i set up a A7N8X DLX Board aprox 2 1/2 yrs ago the SATA / Raid driver was on CD and have to make Floppy from that .. or go to ASUS and D/L the file from there but the board didnt come with it

funny tho ,,,, i had a DFI Board that came with it but didnt work ... the floppy disc was defective ;)
