cpuguru
Ohhh .. you don't have Brian May or Eric Clapton on that list. I think they are overrated, top 20 guitarists however still overrated.

TracyLynn
Eric Clapton over rated? I can only pray to be HALF as talented as that man is. He's a legend. Edited April 19, 2005 by TracyLynn

brandon
I'd have to say Jimi Hendrix would be #1 for me. I haven't listened to rock in a while, but all I hear when I ask people about Jimi Hendrix is how good he was with the guitar.

aeroman10
Here is my list: 1. Rhandy Rhoads 2. Joe Perry 3. Kirk Hammett 4. Marty Friedman 5. Zakk Wylde 6. Slash 7. Ace Frehley 8. Dave Mustaine 9. Kerry King 10. Kurt Cobain and while were talking about people who play stringed instruments..some of my choices for top bass players would be 1. Cliff Burton 2. Flea 3. Gene Simmons and we cant forget Twiggy Ramirez Its weird that nobody mentioned Joe Perry in any of their lists. He has got to be one of the top 10 guitarists out there. After I saw him play some solos with the guitar behind his head I knew he was one of the greatest Edited April 20, 2005 by aeroman10

I think Hanneman is a much better guitarist then King and I would take Kim Thayil over Cobain but whatever floats your boat For bassists I would have to go: 1. Cliff Burton (RIP buddy) - Metallica 2. Geddy Lee - Rush 3. John Paul Jones - Led Zeppelin 4. John Entwistle - The Who 5. Robert Trujillo - Pretty well everyone but lets say Metallica 6. Jeff Ament - Pearl Jam 7. Steve Harris - Iron Maiden By the way I have seen three of the guitarists on your list; Perry, Hammett and Dave Mustaine. Edited April 20, 2005 by cpuguru
