Hi Dsayyae,

Welcome to the Pit. :)

BW download is way off as you stated. You appear to have quite a bit running but I don;t think that is the cause.

Would suggest you check your IE settings by going to Tools/Internet Options/Security Tab. Click on each icon from left to right and they should read.....MEDIUM.....MEDIUM LOW....LOW....HIGH. Click on Privacy Tab & the setting should be MEDIUM. Click on Advanced Tab and click on DEFAULT/Apply/ok.

Could you try the BW down test again & see if it changed any. Usually, it is the BW up test that is low. Note that there is also a troubleshooter is the link as well.

Let us know please.

I hope that's what you wanted Hawk? Once again, thanks for your help

Yup...you fixed the TechExpress Link. :)

I just had another look at your test results & they appear to have changed. Your BW was higher the last time I looked & you didn't have a CPU load, if I remember correctly, it was at 0%.

This might be part of your problemFree Resources 52% .

Normally this is at 80 or even 90%. If you click on your link & go to Test Details, scroll down to the blue/gray files & click on each one. See what needs to be running & what doesn't.

This link will give you some info:

This one will give you an idea of what each file is:

Do you think it may be something to do with your ISP as well?

retested this morning, 56K dwn 512 up ...

The BW up seems within reason if you are used to getting between 3 & 4Mb/s down but 56K down is not even in the picture. Your ping also seems fine.

I can only assume that it has something to do with your ISP. I get different readings on my BW in each test but nothing like you are getting. ;)

Check my TechExpress link & have a look, That is fairly normal...fluctuates a bit from time time.

Hi, D

You and I are having the same identical problem, except my problem is slow U/L Speeds.

When I get an answer, I'll let you know what yours probably is.

Or Vise Versa.

There is a program I downloaded called "NeoTrace Pro" which I am using constantly, trying to isolate where we are losing packets. It is listed at the bottom of the lower site Hawk suggested.

You might want to look at it, if you don't have it already.

BTW, I had my ISP install a new Motorola modem here and it still didn't help.

Keep on Tryin'

James

Problem resolved , was my Modem. Bought a new modem, SMOKIN !!!!!

Thanks for all your help Hawk

Great Dsayyae!

Happy to hear you have it resolved. The readings you were getting indicated something wrong with your connection. Through the process of elimination, you were able to boil it down to your modem. ;)
