Phase Change Material

Greetings,

Have you ever wondered how cheap an AMD CPU would be without the PCM?

PCM is somewhere around $12.00/each if bought by the thousand count.

You would think that there are enough OC'ers and computer builders out there to put the pressure on Berquist and other PCM manufacturers to come up with a reasonably priced product.

At least some will mail samples.

I found that a hair drier works best for the initial application to the heat sink.

In me 'umble opine, a PCM beats thermal paste any day and is a much neater application.

The only product that comes close is Antec and there is no comparison with the materials supplied to AMD.

Food for thought.....

Peace,

gj
