moon
I've been running Opera 7.03 for two weeks now with no problems whatsoever. It's around twice as fast as my IE. Anyone else have an opinion on it ?
aeroman10
I dont like the free version because it has advertising I would rather stick with IE and Mozilla
moon
Ads ? No ads in my free Opera. I still have to use IE to get to naff sites which can't handle other browsers though but they're getting fewer by the month.
aeroman10
Thats weird, because the free versions have a banner ad and to remove that you have to purchase the $39 version.
moon
My banner-ad placeholder is blank, always has been. I'm set to refuse pop-ups and third party cookies. Life's a breeze, no other software involved.
akokes
You probably also have a hosts file on you pc Moon, thats why the ad banner is blank. Its looking on your pc instead of the internet for the ad and not finding it.
moon
Yes, there's a thread here somewhere that tells what to put in it. I've actually been checking out Mozilla for a week and that's pretty cool too.
Guest Red Squirrel
I don't like their idea of using flash ads... so I switched to mozilla. It also renders some pages badly. I think it's tables it has trouble with, my site hardly renders decently in it. I used notepad to do it so it's not like there would be Front Page junky html or anything. Guest warpete
You're correct about Opera 7.xx being fast, but the free version is only banner free for the first 30 days. After that, you'll find an ad banner that's bigger and badder than on 6.xx. I think Opera is here to stay because they're getting more and more configured to go anywhere IE can go---but close to twice as fast. You may want to consider buying the browser in the future. It's amazing all the things you can do with it!
