Kde Is Messing Up

When I installed RH 7.3, I installed gnome and kde. When KDE was installed, it would go through the startup phases, then the screen would start flashing...I never was able to login to kde. If I just install gnome without kde, everything works fine. Can someone tell me where I did something wrong?

you may need to try XConfigurator in the cli. if the flashing stops and kicks you to the command line, you can then log in as root and type in the command line, the command, "Xconfigurator" without the quotes. choose the vesa video drivers and match up everything else as best you can. if it prompts you to probe, choose skip probe. then you should be able to type in the command "startx" without the quotes and get gui where from there you can install the nvidia drivers easier and edit the XF86Config-4 file in a graphical text editor.

Good thing with Linux is that you can press CTRL ALT and BACKSPACE and it reboots without rebooting, so when making changes to the config files you can pretty much see right away if it fixed it or not. Im sure thats what i did when i was getting my Nvidia drivers to run, tho if im wrong im sure someone will correct me
