Nvidia Drivers

hey all~

I'm using Lycoris Desktop/LX, and I need to install the Nvidia drivers for my Gf3Ti200 to get opengl working, but I run into a problem when I try. Bruce, I know you told me how to do this a long time ago but i forgot lol. I downloaded the GLX and Kernel files from the website and am following the directions:

$ tar xvzf NVIDIA_kernel.tar.gz (the file name is longer depending on version)

$ tar xvzf NVIDIA_GLX.tar.gz

$ cd NVIDIA_kernel

$ make install

right there, whenever I move into either of those folders and type 'make install' it just gives me 'command not found'....what am I doing wrong?

any help would be much appreciated!

thanks

-Adam

You are logged in as root?

I would also recomend getting the 3123 drivers, and not the 4191 drivers.

Get the 3123 drivers. Log in as root, and then try installing them. The kernel first then the glx file, don't forget you may need to edit the XF86Config file after installing them.

i'm not sure as i only used the tarball once, but don't you have to untar it first and then cd to the untarred directory to use the make install command logged in as root?

there should be a readme file too, that you need to read as sometimes to install software, you need to do these commands in order:

$ ./configure

$ make

$ make install
