There are several legit programmes that use the words, Reg and Seeker, in various configurations and i know that you have such programmes installed, are you quiet sure that McAfee is not picking up on them??

What do you mean? Are you referring to McAfee Free Scan? Whenever I do a scan using Free Scan it comes up with the same infected file, from all of the scanners I used (this particular infected file did not show up).

You have to become a member in order to try out the software, I really don't want to do that. How legit is the software in the first place? It said on the website that ToniArts may not be held accountable in any way if EasyCleaner affects your computer in a negative way. Is there something else that works in the same manner as Easy Cleaner without having to sign up for it?

Something that may actually come to a conclusion with what the hell is Reg/Seeker and how I can vanquish it off my PC?

I haven't signed up for anything with Easy Cleaner. If you're worried about giving an email address for such things, open a Hotmail account :mrwinky:

If you look at the top of this page, there's a disclaimer.

Okay, so I e-mailed the support technician about the problem with Reg/Seeker, hopefully they will respond.

Okay so the technician responded and here is what he said:

Thank you for contacting McAfee Consumer Online Support. My name is

Kenneth. Having reviewed your e-mail regarding removing Reg/Seeker

infection ; I would be happy to support you in resolving this issue.

Please boot your computer in Safe Mode and perform a complete scan in

Safe Mode to detect and clean any infection on your computer.

As in Normal Mode most of the files are currently running and will not

give access to edit or clean them. In Safe Mode the computer boots up

with minimum system resources and you can get access to most of the

files in your computer.

It is suggested that you must clean, quarantine or delete the infected

file to stop further infections in your computer.

Shutdown and Restart the Computer in Safe Mode : -

Click on the Start button. The Start menu will appear.

Select Shut Down from the menu. The 'Shut Down Windows' dialog box will

appear.

Select 'Shut down' and click the Yes (or OK) button.

Wait until the 'It is now safe to turn off the computer' message

appears and turn the computer off.

Turn the computer back on.

Begin immediately pressing the F8 key, about once a second, until the

Windows Startup menu appears.

Press 3 and then Enter to start the computer in Safe Mode.

Once Windows starts, an information message will appear explaining Safe

Mode. Click the OK button to clear this message.

If you have any difficult getting the Windows Startup menu to appear at

step 6, try the following to get into Safe Mode:

Try holding down the left shift key instead of pressing the F8 key

while booting up it.

Begin immediately pressing the F5 key, about once a second, until the

message 'Windows is bypassing your startup files'.

Be sure that VirusScan is updated on your computer.

Once you are in Safe Mode, please run the Scan.

I hope that I?ve answered your questions effectively. If not, feel free

to contact support again. Please include all previous correspondence

when replying.

You may receive a survey from McAfee in the next couple of days that

will give you an opportunity to provide feedback on the support I?ve

offered. This information will be used to further improve our support.

The survey will provide an ?Assigned Technician? number and the scores

will be tied to my technician number. 36567.

I've already tried this in the past and it did not change anything, the Virus Scan(s) came up clean.
