Does anyone know what ms.exe is?

It's in the start up list within msconfig.

Is there a program name that it's running with?

Not sure what you mean. I first noticed it in a Start Up Manager. Does anyone else using a Start Up Manager have these files listed?

From what I see at TrendMicro, it looks like there are supposed to be legitimate ms.exe files in the Windows - System folder.

No, I don't have this one.

Using AVG, Zone A., Spybot,, Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster, and WinPatrol. I'll take a look at this.

If you've got WinPatrol, there's a Startup section with an info button.

It might reveal something.

Everytime I disable ms.exe and reboot, it comes back.

Pest Patrol found a hijacker in the registry "xxxtoolbar.com" which I removed. I also found dozens of porn registry keys. I DON'T GO TO PORN SITES ! How did they get there and how do I get rid of them?

I found the ms.exe file in the Windows - Prefetch folder. It's gone.

Now for the Registry clean up. Any ideas.

Since ms.exe was identified as spyware, perhaps the post should be moved.

PestPatrol finds a load of references for other programs. The xxxtoolbar is probably in Restricted Sites. If it ain't :woot:

All the stuff you found is in Domains. It's not a problem.
