The main reason is that you will always get different results from minute to minute, hour to hour, and day to day. If you look at our ping tests, we take averages for 10 different tests from 6-7 different sites. This is to eliminate some of the randomness of the internet. akokes Posted March 16, 2003 Share Posted March 16, 2003 People always seem to want to run a small test to chect their internet connection. I know that a cable modem connection tends to speed up then slow down then hit rated speed after about 3 seconds.
