doofus
Mines set at 13140 for a 512kb broadband connection and wondered if its maybe a little high still, or maybe its a little too low??. I changed it from its default (whatever that was.....lol) so just wondered what others have theres set at thats relevant to my connetion?. HammerSlammer
All depends on whose bandwidth test I use and the time of day. It just seems to be the best setting for me as far as average speeds.
dave
There is no single best RWIN value. Ideally you want the highest RWIN value you can use. However, if there are any lost packets or retransmissions a high RWIN value hurts because you may have to throw away more data. That will vary for every site you visit. Usually a 64000 or so RWIN value is the highest you need for most home broadband connections. When you said "13140" did you miss a digit there? That is too low for a 512K connection. franglais
Hey Keith....I've tried many RWIN settings on my DSL and the one I use all the time now is 255552, it seems to give the best results, no matter what time of day!

Thats the corerct value in the registry that i added instead of the default (whatever that is/was). Seems ok as things go, tho i havnt a clue as regards how it all works. TorreyIsLDS
17520 works for a low sped cable connex like mine, 1MB... you should most preferably set it to that or lower.
