Dumprep?

what does duprep do in write and debugging on winxp?

 

its appeared in my startup list and i havent started anything new, the only thing i have done is add another 256MB of ram but im not sure if it was there before i added it. any ideas???

dumprep.exe (not duprep) is a legit microsoft program but I don't know why it would be running at startup.

 

I would do a virus and spyware scan.

If it's the same program, I will see a dumprep.exe in the task manager if I force a reboot by overclocking something too high :blushing:

 

I think it's what records the "minidumps" after an XP problem.

sorry it is dumprep, (typo)

it is actually dumprep 0 -u, i havent over clocked anything, ran adaware-spybot and virus scan and nothing found.

 

there isnt a dumprep.exe in task manager,

I think it's what records the "minidumps" after an XP problem.

 

does any one know where these reports go?
