You think just me being infected is bad.. he infected a whole lan party and a few other houses. All my friends had to reinstall windows. We were all so angry, we threw him in the pool... and his comp woulda joined him if he hadn't begged for it not to go in.

Want to know about reinstallation?

Myself and my friend set up this small network (25 computers) for some people who where running a call centre. Antivirus and everything was setup on the system and configured to scan e-mail but one bright "floor manager" [that is what they call them] decided that it was not too important to enable the antivirus and executed a Virus from his e-mail that wiped out Windows across the network. The Manager called us back and we had to get them Puters running as fast as possible... :woot::angry:

I'm sure you already know this stuff areoman, but I found it interesting...

http://www.protocols.com/pbook/tcpip7.htm

http://www.eetimes.com/design_library/cd/o...EG20030414S0070

Cool Links...

About those Solicited TCP Packets...

The scan on https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 says that I failed but it doesnt say what ports responded to these solicited requests...

I would think that if you send a solicited request to port 80 it would reply, and is that a bad thing? I hate failing

That sucks...

Oh well, it says failed but it tells me to look at the results of the port scan and all the ports are stealth or closed...

It don't suck,,it just means his site don't see my machine the same way it does yours,,now is that really bad?? I don't have a good answer for that.

But if you have that machine of yours setup the way I think you do,,I wouldn't get all upset over that damn test. ;) v

Woohoo, I finally passed.

Its stupid though, the only reason why I was failing before was because port 113 was closed instead of being stealth

Ummm OK...so I just went into my router and setup forwarding for port 113 to a non existed IP on my network...tested again and now I pass..

I believe that my security level is still the same though. Closed ... Stealth .. both mean that the port is not accessable :)

That test site is a little messed up :P

When a port is Closed, is that a bad thing? I dont think so.

But apparently the creator of that site prefers all ports to be Stealth and if its Closed then its a no no
