What's the purpose

Seen these articles on my Google feed (via Android smartphone [LG K8+]).

This makes absolutely no sense at all to me. Why would anyone want to run Linux apps in Windows??






Granted, my new lappy came running Win10... I can see keeping Windows for gaming maybe, but anything else is just so much smarter to do in Linux. Dual boot would cover bases for gaming and all. But if working with Linux programs, it's best to keep it in Linux!


Thoughts? Opinions?

Is this the start of the end for independent open source software? Is this just M$ trying to 'assimilate' the competition?

Just run Linux in a VM from windows if you want to have both worlds and don't want to dual boot.


But we also have Wine in linux so we can run .exe files.
