Blackout7491
In my emails detailing the final results of the scan, data fragmentation was always drastically reduced. Recently, data fragmentation (both data and total) remains the same and isn't reduced. Why isn't it reducing it and how can I fix it?
nigsy
Could be pointing to damaged sectors that can no longer be written to. How old is the hard drive (I assume HDD not SSD?); what level of fragmentation are you looking at? Maybe run a healthcheck on the drive using the manufacturers tool. Might be a good time to ensure you have a robust backup routine!!
Tx Redneck
Hey @Blackout7491, "Data fragmentation" indicates that the fragmentation is in the restore points. You can either run Windows Disk Cleanup and delete all but the last restore point, or turn off System Restore, defrag, then turn System Restore back on (and be sure to manually create a new restore point ) and you should see great improvement. If this doesn't solve the problem, please open a ticket with our help desk so we can get some more info from you. Well, both the SSD and HDD are about 2 years old this summer.I don't know if that is old or not in the PC world. 23 hours ago, Tx Redneck said: Hey @Blackout7491, "Data fragmentation" indicates that the fragmentation is in the restore points.
