Juliet
In order to use Windows Defender only, you'll have to uninstall/remove all antivirus applications on the machine. These links will help in turning it on after other antivirus software has been removed. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/instantanswers/742778f2-6aad-4a8d-8f5d-db59cebc4f24/how-to-protect-your-windows-10-pc https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5918-windows-defender-turn-off-windows-10-a.html Some people are happy enough using this then, some prefer other protection. avast! Juliet
Run IE as administrator, go to settings in top right corner, Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings, uncheck Use Proxy Server and check Automatically Detect Settings, OK and again OK. Close IE - Open Microsoft Edge - see if the error is still there Or try the below To reset the DNS resolver cache, perform the following steps: Hold down the Windows key and press R to bring up the Run dialog box. Type ipconfig /flushdns then press Enter. (be sure there is a space before the slash)

Shall i uninstall all the other s/w you said me to install before? What are the things you want me to follow? Suggest me one good antivirus. Which will be good? Paid or free and what's the difference? Shall i use Malwarebyte instead of antivirus or can i have both? The problems with Edge and IE,....are pretty much related to Microsoft and their updates. I do wish an update would go out and fix all those issues. Read over the Microsoft link below and follow a couple of the tips mentioned there. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/apps_windows_10-msedge/ie-11-edge-not-working-in-windows-10-upgrade/3c38bb2b-62e7-4bed-8ed5-a51d5a417864?page=2 To me, suggestions by these people I would think apply. HF Hank Freeman replied on Feburary 1, 2016 FH FHankFreeman replied on Feburary 3, 2016 JB John Buckhoff replied on September 27, 2016 ~~~~ It's been my experience when downloading and installing an antivirus, before installing it will ask you uninstall any existing antivirus on the computer. And if it doesn't make it a task to get that done or all your computer resources will be eaten up by more then one antivirus conflicting with each other. Which is the best antivirus?, thats an age old question. And guess what, I don't have a direct good as gold answer. When I installed a Free antivirus I think I tried each for a week to see which I felt was the best for me and that my machine adapted well to. Also, free antivirus?, is just that. They don't include and updated Firewall that checks incoming and outgoing connections. Some include a couple of other resources that only come with a paid for security suite. Windows 10 has been out long enough now that the antivirus vendors should have them all adapted to this version of windows. Malwarebytes at this time is just a malware scanner. isn't an Anti-Virus - it doesn't have an Anti-Virus engine so functions differently to that of a traditional Anti-Virus. it also has the ability to run alongside other Anti-Virus software. They are making changes to it with improvements with the Premium version but those are not out as of yet. Now, for the tools used and related quarantine folders: Please download DelFix or from Here and save the file to your Desktop. Double-click DelFix.exe to run the programme. Place a checkmark next to the following items: Activate UAC Remove disinfection tools Click the Run button. -- This will remove the specialized tools we used to disinfect your system. Any leftover logs, files, folders or tools remaining on your Desktop which were not removed can be deleted manually (right-click the file + delete ). ************************

Other browsers like chrome and opera is not connecting to internet. Like i said before that edge and IE is not working. Same proxy error, i guess.. And i tried to check for the Windows Update manually, but it shows some error "We couldn't connect to the update service. We'll try again later, or you can check now. If it still doesn't work, make sure you're connected to the Internet." Help me once again.

Samson
I tried few steps before and tried everything now.. But, nothing seems to work.. I don't know.. And, my battery is running out very fast.. It used to stand for minimum 3-4hours, but now it hardly stands for a hour and a half or 2.. It seems like some back ground process is sucking out my battery.. Because all of a sudden it doing a high process for a minute and gets down to normal.. Even if it is in stand-by, it happens.. Juliet
http://www.thewindowsclub.com/the-server-stumbled-windows-10-store try suggestions in the above link for resetting proxy, scroll down to If you are using a proxy connection, then disable proxy and see if it works. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go to Search, type services.msc and open Services. Find DNS Client and check it's Status. If there's nothing listed under Status, right-click on the DNS Client service and choose Start. Restart your computer. Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps. Step 1: Run the SFC. The sfc /scannow (System File Checker) command scans all protected system files, and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. Press Windows + X key on the keyboard. Click on Command Prompt (Admin). At the command prompt window, type the following commands: Select Run as Administrator. Type sfc /scannow and hit Enter. Step 2: Run the DISM Tool. If the issue persists, I would have you run the DISM tool to check the system health and will try to restore the files. Press Windows + X key on the keyboard. Click on Command Prompt (Admin). At the command prompt window, type the following commands: Press the Enter key after each command: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth To close the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type Exit, and then press Enter. Note: The tool might take 15-20 minutes to finish running, so please do not cancel it.
