Anyone know about TVs?

Recommended Posts

I got an Element ELEFT406

Still sells new for $230 at Target

http://www.target.com/p/element-40-class-1080p-60hz-led-tv-eleft406/-/A-14463240

It gets power but no display... I'm guessing LED backlight went out? Plugged it laptop via VGA cable and the graphics options shows the TV as an available display.

*edit* I suppose I'm just wondering if it's worth trying to fix this one or just get rid of it and buy new (when ever I can afford it)?

Cheers!

I'll check it out, but decided to just offer it for free on craigslist.

OK, now I'm debating on keeping it after all!! Tried the steps outlined in that video and it turns out the back lighting is the problem. Powered it on and all, with the room nice and dark shone a flash light at the screen and could see a faint outline of the video signal.
