Looks like some new support on AMDGPU video driver... but is that only for Radeon RX 480 GPUs?

The other changes in Linux kernel 4.7 include the support for parallel directory lookups and firmware upgrade by following the EFI ‘Capsule’ mechanism.

I'm particularly curious if this would be a fix for the problem my desktop has with AMD A-series APU and at boot up I get an error about bad firmware and no southbridge IOMMU.

if my memory serves in another topic when i looked into it for you i found that wasn't really a problem and had something to do with your bios so no, new kernels will not stop you getting the error message and that message didn't actually cause any problems when running linux and was just something to do with vm's.
