Trouble running PC Matic

Recommended Posts

This is a recurring problem that I am having with PC Matic....

Whenever I want to do a scan of my PC this is what I have to do....

-I will select "Launch PC Matic"

-It will always hang on scanning recycle files

-I will always have to go into "TaskMaster" and stop the PC Matic Process

-When I then Launch PC Matic(a second time) it will go through the scanning of recycle files fast and then go to fragmentation etc....

This can't be normal, how can I resolve this issue?

In addition after PC Matic ran it came up with 11 errors, I rebooted ran again this time errors were 12, rebooted ran again this time errors were 11.....after each time I ran the Fix Errors....maybe both issues are related....

Please download, extract, and run the repair tool from the link below. To download, click on the purple button in the upper right of the page that opens after clicking the link:

https://repairtasks.codeplex.com/

Once the tool is open, click the button to let it scan the computer, then once the scan is completed, click the button to let it repair any corrupted tasks that it finds. You can use the default settings to do the scan and repair.

Once the tool completes the repair, reboot the computer, then try PC Matic again. If the issue is not resolved you will need to open a ticket at our help desk from here:

The first part has been corrected, I can now Launch PC Matic anytime just once....

The second part of PC Matic getting and me fixing errors still continues when I reboot and run again and agin....for some reason my PC Matic does not Fix the files when I select "Fix All".....

The remaining issues look to be some false positives in the malware scan and some disk fragmentation. You will need to open a ticket at our help desk so that we can get some more specific information. You can open a ticket from here:

I used this procedure .... the repair tool found 103 errors when I clicked SCAN... when I clicked the REPAIR button, a Windows dialog displayed stating that "the Repair Tool has stopped working" the only option was to close the window. I will open a ticket at the help desk

You can try running the repair tool as admin also. Right-click on the .exe file and select "Run as admin" to start it.
