It will remove the infection, but it will not get your encrypted files back.

However, Super Shield (which comes with PC Matic) and it's white list defense system is effective in stopping ransomeware from ever getting on the computer in the first place.

If System Restore/Protection is enabled and running Windows 7 O/S I'd try this...

If System Restore is enabled and you can go back far enough, restore the computer to an earlier date using Safe Mode. To do so, restart the computer and start tapping the F8 key, select the Safe Mode with Command Prompt option. If you are asked to select an operating system, use the arrow keys to select the correct one and press Enter. Log on as an administrator or with an account that has administrator credentials. At the command prompt, type %systemroot%\system32\rstrui.exe and then press Enter. Follow the prompts to restore the computer to an earlier date.

If that's not possible, you could try a Factory Reset by pressing certain keys on startup to access that partition on the hard drive. Doing this will lose all personal data for you. ;)

What Operating System and make/model of machine??
