Problems with PCMatic

several weeks ago, my computer, Toshiba laptop, windows 7 pro, started running very slow, slow in loading webpages, and other slow features. I ran pcmatic, but had a lot of trouble getting it to load, and complete, starting getting an error message that a script is running and is using all resources. task manage showed the cpu and memory use very high, even when very few or no application were actually running. stopping the script did nothing, I think it just restarted. finally got pc matic to run and completed, but it did nothing to find the problem. I have had many emails back and forth with pcmatic tech, but problem has not been found. sent them a log file, but have had no response, just sent them a new one. !!! I think the problem is with the wireless downloading, web pages and also with software other than webpage. web pages often time out. and when the problem is the worst there is a constant beeping, like when your email has been received. beeps every 2-5 seconds.

pcmatic finds nothing, but often locks up and have to end with task manager. starting to get very disqusted and wonder if pcmatic is really doing anything. pcmatic suggested stopping some startup programs so I did that

also , I have downloaded and ran a couple of other virus scanners/cleaners and they have found hundreds/thousands of virus, malware, and junk that pcmatic did not find so my faith in pcmatic is about nil. . and this helped quite a bit, but not entirely, it sometimes runs good for a time and then slows down. especially if internet explorer is used.

there are several processes in the task manager that show up whenever the slow down occurs such as dvdupgrd.exe, dplaysrv.exe, rundl2.exe, logagent.exe, wextract.exe, and a couple of others. these are not shown whenever it is running well. ending these processes does nothing and they simply restart and continue. how do you really stop them. pcmatic techs apparently do not know what they do, whether they are needed, or how to stop them as they do not respond to any questions. any suggestions, including a better malware program.

The last reply to your help desk ticket was seven days ago requesting a log file. There is no reply to that request and there is no log file after the one sent a month ago, which is corrupted and unreadable. The help desk staff needs a current log file.

The problem is that your computer has malware on it. The files that you named are indications of that. There are four computers on your account, but only two of them have SuperShield activated. SuperShield should be blocking those files from executing. Without a readable log file I cannot determine which one is having the problem or if it is one of the two that do not have SuperShield installed.

There is no one program that removes all threats at all times. If it were that easy the bad guys would have quit long ago.

If PC Matic is not able to remove the malware, then my recommendation would be to get help at our malware removal forum:

If you are not satisfied with the program or our support, let us know and your order will be refunded.
