JustinP526
http://www.linux.com/news/software/linux-kernel/790814-5-exciting-new-features-in-linux-317 I like the sound of #2 on the list, though, would it actually be of any real help to those using machines with lots of RAM (say 16GB or more)? Somehow just seems it would be ideal for systems with lesser amounts of memory. Can't really say the Y2k38 Proofing feature is really exciting. But it is definitely smart. Think there's still plenty of time to have to worry about such thing though At least it's taken care of sooner and faster than was the Y2K one with M$
Bruce
Personally I think the removal of 250,000 lines of code from the kernel is the best part of that small number of changes.
nigsy
Not sure they are all that exciting!! Y2K38??? I'll be dead by then!! Xbox support...that'll be useful (NOT) Memory buffer fudging....In the real world for normal users who aren't benchmarking - will we really notice a difference? Better ARM support...meh 250,000 lines of code removed - but then replaced with all the code to enable the above to work - I guess on balance I can take that one.
