AMD GPU not using full CPU?

Yes I am but I am only using 3 cores for the CPU. Last time I checked AMD GPUs use one full core per GPU and its not doing it now. I don't know how much PPD I am supposed to get with this GPU because its rebranded from best buy. So I have no idea if this is normal.

I'm afraid I'm no help with the AMD stuff... I'm running all Nvidia although I'd like to get my hands on a 270X or the likes for the right price. Also, I've not read anything on the 260's or how they Fold. Muttonhunter may be able to help you...

i understand that its nvidia gpu that need a full cpu core for each card.

 

i am running mostly nvidia cards (5) and 2 amd cards, a 7970 and a 290x.

 

the amd cards according to task manager usually use 1-3% of cpu. so you seem ok there.

 

as for ppd, the 7970(2048 stream processors) gets about 100k+ppd, the 290x(2816 stream processors) about 200k+ppd.

the 260x has 896 stream processors(i think stream processors is the main factor in ppd.) so you seem about right with 52kppd.

there are so many variables, which driver, which project,gpu core clock speed etc that its hard to say what a card should produce ppd.

 

also there has been a snafu at stanford . wrong wu going to wrong cards, so we both may see a small increase in ppd when thats all straightened out.

 

i was getting so many low pt cpu a3 wu that i have shut down the client cpu folding and am using google (ugh) Nacl for my cpu's. seems to help a bit with gpu ppd. and cpu heat.
