caintry_boy
O.K. have you scanned for malware/adware? Try this: -AdwCleaner-by XplodeClick on this link to download : ADWCleanerClick on ONE of the Two Blue Download Now buttons That have a blue arrow beside them and save it to your desktop.Do not click on any links in the top Advertisment. Close all open programs and internet browsers. Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool. Click on Scan. After the scan is complete click on "Clean" Confirm each time with Ok. Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer. You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[s1].txt as well. Let's see what that finds... Also try running Malwarebytes: Download here > http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam/ Run the program like this: Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note) The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM. Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply. Extra Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.
JustinP526
Can you run a PitTest? It could be possible that you just need to update or change graphics card driver.

caintry_boy
If you take a screen shot of it and save to your PC, just use the "More Reply Options" and toward the bottom of the page select the "Choose Files" button under Attach Files, select your pic, Open, Add to Post on the right side. If you've already ran it through a hosting site just copy the URL and right above the reply box hover over the little icons there till you find one that looks like a tiny "picture", click and enter the URL, OK, done. terry1966
No Dont think its over heating ..... total shut down...and then have to reboot..... that is exactly what would happen when it over heats. so definitely give it a good clean out anyway. the cooler it runs the better so should be cleaned out on a regular basis. the reason why it only happens during game play may be because games (or that 1 game) are a lot more cpu intensive (meaning the cpu gets hotter) than just normal pc use like web browsing, so when the cpu hits a certain temp it will shut down the pc to protect itself. install some temp monitoring software like this :- http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html and see what the temps get up to when it shuts down. caintry_boy
Wendy, I'd like for you to update your Malwarebytes and scan again and post the log. It may seem repetitious but I just want to double-check... By the way, I also agree with what Terry is saying about the game play and heat effects on the CPU causing shut downs. It may seem repetitious but I just want to double-check... By the way, I also agree with what Terry is saying about the game play and heat effects on the CPU causing shut downs. Wendy, I don't know if you had Adwarecleaner quarantine or delete what it found but please run it again and have it delete all that it finds. Also please do this: Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop. Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts. Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator". The tool will open and start scanning your system. Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications. On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open. Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message. So please post a new Malwarebytes log, a new Adwarecleaner log (after deleting) and the JRT log.

terry1966
tried to D/L the file for Temp...terry ..is there an easier one ? not sure what problem you had but this is a direct link to the hwmonitor download, so should start downloading as soon as you click on it :- http://www.cpuid.com/medias/files/softwares/hwmonitor/hwmonitor_1.25-setup.exe there is also speedfan :- http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php it's direct download link :- http://www.almico.com/speedfan450.exe personally i think i'd try both and check what each says your temps are they should be the same or very close to each other meaning it's more likely to be an accurate temp reading.
