I got a western digital hard drive from my friend's box. now i'm connected this the 320 gb SATA drive to my system. the i can see the three partition in HDD as F, G, H. the G&H are accessible but the problem with F. When i'm trying to open this it says "windows need to format the drive" and a popup window says it is not accessible. and i'm tried this drive to format.. that also failure.."windows was unable to complete the format".. As a non -expert i dont know what i want to do.. my system running in windows 7..

Go here > http://support.wdc.c...8&sid=3&lang=en and download the WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows. Follow the instructions on that page to test the drive/s in your PC, You should be able to format the drive too...

Note that since you're running Win 7, you'll have to right click the file and select "Run as Administrator" just as it says to do for Vista...

Be Certain That You Do NOT format your good drive with your O/S on it!
