Windows Show's no malware/virus protection

Recommended Posts

After removing Avast and installing PCmatic, Window alert says it sees no Malware or Virus protection. Is my laptop safe? Everything I read says it is but I am concerned. Thanks for any help. Running Window's Vista Home Basic.

PC Matic Supershield is great and your PC is secure as long as you have Supershield installed. If not I highly recommend that you do install it as it is on the "cutting edge" of protection. I use it on 5 PC's. ;)

We are in the process of getting SuperShield added to the Microsoft list of recognized security products. In the meantime, you can follow the instructions from Microsoft for ending the message you are seeing.

A link to those instructions are here:

In Windows 7 the Security Center has been renamed the Action Center. For Windows 7 go to Start>Control Panel>Action Center>Change Action Center Settings and remove the check mark from Security Messages>Virus Protection then click OK.
