evilfantasy
Just found this little tool and cleaned up a bunch of duplicate and dead bookmarks in my Firefox browser. I also watched as my Favicons that had gone missing in the bookmarks bar re-appeared when running the Reload Favicons option. Pretty cool! Note: I'm runnibg Firefox 11.0 so it should work with all versions of FF. Full description and instructions with screenshots on the CheckPlaces Homepage. CheckPlaces is a Firefox/SeaMonkey extension that allows you to check your bookmarks in different ways. There is a basic check of your bookmarks, and optional checks that the pages still exist, duplicate bookmarks, and empty folders. You can also use it to restore favicons that have gone missing, and compact and check the integrity of the Places database.
