Great deal, but has it's hardware restrictions:

Technical Requirements

Operating System:

Microsoft Windows 7 - 32 bit or 64 bit

Microsoft Windows Vista Business (with DirectX 11) - 32 bit or 64 bit (SP1 or higher)

Hardware Minimum Requirements:

Intel Pentium 4 or higher, AMD Athlon 64, or AMD Opteron processor

2 GB RAM

2 GB of available disk space

1 GB DirectX 11 compliant video card (tested w/ ATI and NVIDIA)

DVD-ROM drive

Hardware Recommended System:

Intel Core 2 Extreme, AMD Phenom X4, or higher

4 GB RAM (for 32-bit OS), 8 GB RAM (for 64-bit OS)

2 GB of available disk space

2 GB DirectX 11 compliant video card

Three-button mouse

DVD-ROM drive

ATI FirePro V8800 System Requirements:

PCI Express-based workstation with available x16 lane graphics slot

Power supply with 225 watts available for graphics card

512 MB of system memory

CD ROM drive for software installation

Most noted for me anyway: 1 GB DirectX 11 compliant video card (tested w/ ATI and NVIDIA)

Gives me an excuse to beef up my graphics cards.

Y kawika,

If want an app that is free that will run on your computer and is more powerful then most $4000 dollar apps give the blender a try. Hold on to your hat  These apps are a learning curve that is out of this world, then when you consider it takes years for proffesionals to create a 1 or 2 hour animation it gets scary. You could however likely create a crude few minute clip with some time and effort. ;)

Thanks Bruce,

I do have Blender installed and do play with it from time to time.

I know what you mean about the "learning curve" I still enjoy discovering new tricks and techniques with the Gimp as well.
