Opensuse 11.4 Final Available.

Recommended Posts

The final release is now available on many of the mirrors.

The mirror below is giving me incredible download speeds.

Grab it now, the mirrors are likely to be bogged down in a little while

Well I got the x86_64 dvd iso at the Georgia Tech repos but the checksums there and at the repo you posted are wrong because they have the name of the isos different from the isos to download.

For example the openSUSE-11.4-DVD-x86_64.iso md5sum file shows the iso name of openSUSE-DVD-Build0024-x86_64.iso. If you edit the name of the iso in openSUSE-11.4-DVD-x86_64.iso.md5 file to openSUSE-11.4-DVD-x86_64.iso, then check it, it matches. The sha1sum file has same issue.

Also, media check of the iso run in 11.3 yast fails but the iso is good and installs just fine.

After the edit, then " md5sum -c openSUSE-11.4-DVD-x86_64.iso.md5" returns OK.

Added nVidia community repo, ran update, accepted, rebooted, and all is well.

My downloads match the md5sums.

I didn't make that up Bruce. The checksum files were exactly like I said at 2 different mirrors. Hopefully, that will or already have fixed that.

I just added packman and vlc repos and selected my usual multimedia apps and their bunch of deps. I did NOT edit zypp.conf or do anything else. The (new) default package manager in yast downloaded everything before installing. So, that's a welcome change.

You didn't point it at a file containing the md5sum. You pointed it at the iso itself. Plus, unless they've fixed it, you need to edit the md5sum file to the correct name of the iso.

that link now says forbidden 403 for me, and it was a direct link to the dvd, not the repo, so couldn't get the sum. :blushing:

you'd think that with all the files i've checked that i would remember what i need to do by now.
