Looking For Beta Testers

Recommended Posts

For those who don't currently have the full version of PC Matic, is this just the RT part or the full w/ the beta SS?

The download in the PM is just the RT -SuperShield component.

The full version of PC Matic can be downloaded from here:

Installed and ran on the PC that I use the most and encountered these errors..

While attempting to login and enter my license key I got this:

Then while checking out the "fixes" that PC Matic wanted to perform I got this:

Upon restarting RT and applying the "fixes", I got the Super Shield error shown above again.

After a re-boot and running PC Matic again Super Shield again "went south" and I received the two errors again.

edit: while browsing the forum just now Super Shield went down again.

do we need PC Matic with the RT part? I only have the RT and no PC Matic,

You don't need it to do the testing of SuperShield, but we are providing it as our way of saying "Thank you" for your assitance.

PC Matic can be downloaded from here:

Try this CB.

http://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?/topic/193621-pcmatic-crashes/page__view__findpost__p__1713431

Here's some more things you could try.

In order to further troubleshoot this issue, please click the link below to download the diagnostic tool:

http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/3/27/1839616//fso-reg-test.zip

Once you have the file downloaded, right-click on the downloaded file and select "Extract all" to unzip the file.

From the unzipped folder, double click on fsoreg.exe to run the tool. A window should open on the screen with the message:

cache: 1 (or 0)

c isready: true (or false)

If there is an error message instead, then REG or FSO is broken on that system. This is not a problem with PC Matic but rather with the Windows installation. To resolve the error message please follow these steps:

1) Run the Windows registry repair tool from the link below:

http://files.pcpitstop.com/support/Repair-ActiveX.cmd

If you are using Vista, Windows 7, or a 64 bit operating system, first save the file above to your desktop, then right-click on the saved file and select, "Run as administrator".

When you run the tool you should see a command window open and be able to watch the tool's progress. The tool may appear to 'hang' once or twice, but if you wait the tool should complete.

2) If the repair tool does not fix the problem, another common problem is WMI corruption. To check for this:

* Right-click the My Computer icon and select Manage.

* Open the "Services and Applications" tree.

* Right-click the "WMI Control" item and select Properties.

In the dialog that appears, you should see this message:

Successfully connected to:

If you see error messages, try the steps recommended on this page to rebuild the WMI Repository:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/repairwmi.htm

Or the steps from here to repair permissions:

I have a request in to the developer to take a look.

The two procedures that Tx referenced are the correct first steps to resolve these issues. The linked procedure should fix the SuperShield error and the longer procedure should fix the other error. Thanks Tx!

Went surfing all over and found my drive-by-download

I do not have AVG nor did I ever have AVG on this pc! What will PC Matic's RT do if I click o.k.?

I managed to put Speedy PC, StopZilla and WhiteSmoke installers on here but I stopped it at the last second during the install, RT did not pick up on those, but did get Play_MP3.exe, and some kind of QT Update for a pr0n viewer was caught by RT and asked me to block, in which I did and it did block the program from executing

I'll do a quick format ...this drive is an image of another hard drive on my pc so it won't take much time to re-image it

RT didn't do much, but yet to date, I have not seen any a/v or antimalware stop one of these things from installing. I'll be back here on my regular pc

Just a note: I decided to wait till I here from someone with RT. I tried to right click on RT in my taskbar, it's DOA .....will not give me any options

Edit: I do have a WhiteSmoke icon on my desktop, must have missed it before, didn't hit the cancel button quick enough or it installed anyway

RT keeps crashing...fsoreg.exe rendered:

cache: 1

c isready: true

So neither option fixed the problem on my P4 rig. What's next??

Developers? Admin?

:geezer:

Sorry CB. I have a request in, but other than that we'll just have to wait for the developer to come on line.

You ran the registry repair tool and checked WMI on that computer, correct?
