countrydan
I am baffled by the huge difference in the internet download test early in the day and later in the day. If I check in the mornings or early afternoon, in get up to 20mps, but late in the day, i get 2-3 mps. after this happens, I check other speed tests and i am back to large download speeds. Could your site be inundated with users, or a bottleneck somewhere between me and your site. It kills my score. I immediately check other speed tests and everything is nhttp://www.pcpitstop.com/betapit/testhistory.asp?conid=23993889ormal. any explanation? Thanks. I can't remember how to post my results, could you help? Edited November 21, 2010 by countrydan

IntelGuy
The OverDrive speed test runs from the Dallas server. Next time that happens, use the link below to try one of the other servers and see what the results are: http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/bw.asp
countrydan
thanks, but i think mine runs from the washington, dc server, or it least it used to. Do you have an opinion of the huge differences in speeds? Either way, it wasn't always a problem. I always got pretty close to the same speeds no matter which service I connected with. I really is baffling since it directly affects my pitstop results, ie: going from the top ten percent to the lower ten percent time after time. I have talked with my local provider, they have run numerous tests, and say I should not have theis problem(time warner). Can the test be run without considering the internet speed and still get a valid score to offset this difference? IntelGuy
Run a trace route when the speed is good and save teh results, then run another trace route when the speed is poor and see if you can spot where it is breaking down: http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/tracert.asp
