Unable To Start Testing With Ei 8

Recommended Posts

Whenever I bring up EI 8 & go to test., it never lets the utility load. I did finally get it to where

it had the message "click here to install active X" but nothing happens

when I click. :pullhair:

Any ideas on how I can fix this? I have Windows XP

Thank you!

I will look at the troubleshooting stuff. Sorry I didn't do that first.

I just get so...............frustrated.

Also, EI 8 isn't right. I should have put IE 8. I tried to uninstall it

so I could re-install it thinking that might be part of the problem.

I pulled up my control panel & there is not even an option to remove it.

Are ya kidding me?

I can't even get to the troubleshooting page. Not in EI8.

Below is the message I get:

Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer

A malfunctioning or malicious add-on has caused Internet Explorer to close this webpage.

What you can do:

Go to your home page

Try to return to pcpitstop.com

More information

Windows Data Execution Prevention detected an add-on trying to use system memory incorrectly. This can be caused by a malfunction or a malicious add-on.

Other things you can do:

Go online to learn about the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) security feature

New message - I get it when I try to do the Active X test:

We were unable to return you to pcpitstop.com.

Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website. It appears that the website continues to have a problem.

What you can do:

Go to your home page

Try to return to pcpitstop.com

More information

When a website causes a failure or crash, Internet Explorer attempts to restore the site. It stops after two tries to avoid an endless loop.

I think I am done. This is making me sooooooooooooooo mad. And on the eve of my birthday. Not nice.

Open up IE8 and go to Tools>Manage Add-ons, change the drop down to 'All Add-ons', then disable all of the add-ons and see if that resolves the issue. If it does, then re-enable them one at a time until you find out which one is the problem.
