martinray
When I scan and repair my registry using Registry Mechanic 9.0 on my Windows 7 Home Premium computer I end up with 8 items that are ignored: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{c4c4c481-0049-4E2B-98FB-9537F6CE516D}\InprocServer32 The other items ignored are the same except the 81 in c4c4c481 is replaced 82, 83, 91, 92, F1 and F2. I have been communicating with PCTools to try to resolve this problem but everything they recommend has, so far, not worked. Anyone have any ideas?
Jacee
Are you having problems with this? If you have Symantec/Norton Antivirus, is it flagging C:\WINDOWS\system32\encdec.dll as malware?
Joe C
looks like Reg Mech has some issues with other software, you can check it out here http://www.pctools.com/forum/forumdisplay....&order=desc

rgibson1
Have you figured this out? I had the exact same problem. Exact. I contacted PC Tools, but they we're not very helpful. I also contact Microsoft, but they only said the Registry will heal itself and to not use Registry Mechanic. I sure would like to get to the bottom of it. Yours is the only thread I've found describing the issue I'm having.
Joe C
This one time you should listen to microsoft and leave the registry alone. You should not you mess with it (including third party programs) or you will break something you will not be able to fix
rgibson1
Yeah, I was wondering if it's a virus or rootkit. Seems to all point to ENCDEC.DLL (Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center) I reported it through the Microsoft Virus Support Center, but since I've had no other issues (no pop-ups and clean AV scans), they said to just let the Registry "heal". Never heard of that approach...
