Amazing- Windows 7 on 800mhz

Recommended Posts

So we're all agreed then .... :pullhair:

:rofl2:

Oh, yes Chop .... I know your 'lite' job and pretty much where you got it, too.

Dang, I'm just a stupid blonde and forgot my knowledge doesn't compare with yours. :thud:

I made it.

Ya know....one can do it one's self. Ya don't have to rely on people like eXPerience. nlite/vLite are freeware after all. I've used the other, but prefer to make my own. BTW it is perfectly legal to use such "versions" with your own appropriate license.

I just remembered why I hate Windows so much. I went and did some updates on a system I'm working on for someone and the updates to fix the updates that fixed the updates to fix the updates to fix the updates.......

It's driving me nuts.

LOL...yup, updating a W2K box...get this:

An update to make sure I can get updates?

How does one go about getting an update if they can not get an update for the updates? Those crazy folks at M$ truly have a sense of humor

Some folks still use 98, I refuse to do anything with 98 because there is no support, or very very little support...time to upgrade.

I don't really know. I think it's pretty hilarious though. I didn't know they even supported 2k still though.

Support for Win 2000 and XP sp2 will end July, 2010. No phone calls or security patches.

I would take a P3 800 or 900 over a laptop or netbook running on battery mode for performance.

The P3 was an excellent processor.

Now if you could just get Windows Vista Second Edition (win7) to run on your laptop properly you would be good to go.

Looks like we found a driver Bruce. The 7 issue with full screen video on my Dell is over.

This UMPC has an 800 MHz Celeron processor and just 1 GB of RAM. It will not acquire any USB anamnesis keys for ReadyBoost purposes, so there's no way to even advance the anamnesis situation. But it doesn't matter: Windows 7 just runs and runs and runs.

Plato or the Eucharist?

Hmmmmm....old thread.....

BTW I have my Dell C840 still running W7....as well as an Acer, a Toshiba, and a Compaq...all on W7. All old hardware (newest one is from 2006) and all running great.

The 800 PIII desktop is still running W7 as well, and working great.
