PCMatic failed to execute

I received this email this morning: "The scan of computer STEVEDESKTOP scheduled for 22:56 GMT on December 12, 2009 was unable to execute. We have scheduled another scan for 22:56 GMT on December 19, 2009. In order for the scheduled scan to complete properly, make sure the computer is powered on and not asleep. If the computer is going to be powered off for an extended period of time, perhaps you might delete the scheduled scan until the computer is powered on."


The computer was indeed on at 22:56GMT (why we're using GMT is a mystery - seems like it would be possible to convert notifications to local time) -


So WHY did PCMatic fail to execute? Is there a log somewhere that would tell me what the problem is?

Logging for the scheduler will need to be turned on at the local computer, but we may be able to spot the problem without getting a log. We won't know until we can get some more information.


If you are using a firewall that generates a log, you can check and see if it blocked Internet access around the same time as the scheduled scan.
