Never had the pleasure of an SKS.

 

When I was a teenager back in the mid 70's I did have the pleasure of firing a WW2 German Karabiner 98k.

 

We always called it a Mauser, so it took me a few google searches to find it.

 

It was a very serious weapon, of course at the time we were playing with it, it wasn't all that old. (30 years or so)

 

Probably still a lot of them kicking around.

in all seriousness i love all the guns of today but still respect and would love to try out the older ones :tup:

Went over my nephews house today and got a chance to have a good look at his new AK-47. Actually it was made in 1973, but was still brand new, of course they had to remove the the full auto pin, but it even came with the factory bayonet. :P

 

I had to have a pic with it. :tup:

Seen alot fakes (Mac 90s) but never the real thing.Im pretty sure that even with the full auto disabled its still illegal.

 

I wanna shoot it!!!!! B)

well got out and fired my XDM-40. put about 100 rounds through it. i tell you what for my first time im pretty damn accurate. putting up 2-5 inch groupings at around 20-30 feet.

 

now i need to go get me a cleaning kit and clean it up :tup:

yea :clap:

 

100 rounds was about 15 minutes worth. went out to this lady at works land (20 acres) and was shootin with her son in law, he thought he was only gonna get a couple shots off i let him put a couple mags through it. hell was all in good fun :tup:

 

even 1 handed i was a pretty decent shot

this is my gun taken apart for cleaning purposes.

 

shows the slide, the barrel, the polymer frame, the guide rail is in the spring and of course the magazine and a single round
