KRAM
Well I couldn't take it any longer. I had to have it and Newegg dropped the price....soooo I bought it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813188048 also picked up one of these, was cheaper then buying the already blocked version Classified board. http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/prod...?product_id=827 I have a i7 920 D0 cpu on the way too. Now I need memory. Suggestions???
BigJoe5434
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231254 el kido i believe has these and they seem to work great for him there cheap made from a good company. and of course DDR3 2000 and they match the color scheme of the Classified Edited September 22, 2009 by BigJoe5434
KRAM
Nice color match and nice price. As of right now I know nothing about how to oc i7's. Of course my system will be water cooled, cpu, gpu and mobo chipset. So I want to make sure I don't get ram that holds back the cpu oc.
miggs78
KRAM, did you win a lottery .. would you mind donating some to the miggsy fund I would usually prefer water blocks from EK Cooling, unfortunately their classified full mobo block is double the price as that Koolance one, but hey EK quality is far superior.. Anyhow, first video card, now this.. really nice build coming.. if you have save any $$.. Miggsy fund please For RAM, Corsair Dominator GTs are pretty good, those Geils are very good too.. KRAM
No lottery winning here. Just sold my soul to the Devil. I hear he will take anyone if you're interested miggs. I looked at the Corsair Dominator GT's but are they worth the extra price?

I looked at the Corsair Dominator GT's but are they worth the extra price? Tbh.. no.. Corsair RAM is usually overpriced.. I personally like these guys .. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231225 G-Skill are known for pretty high quality RAM.. Here's 2 reviews: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardw...kit-review.html and http://www.guru3d.com/article/g-skill-ddr3...memory-review/1 I think this RAM is totally worth it at it's value.. runs cool, and has lots of overclocking potential.. stupid me.. those by Bigjoe are also G-skills.. Its a good question if the $30 is worth it, I would say.. if you do have the money. go for it, if you're tight on budget, go with the cheaper one.. either one both are G-skills and you definitely will not be dissapointed by both.. here's a review on the same website for these trident versions.. http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardw...kit-review.html These guys don't give a damn good for no reason, prolly some good RAM.. KRAM
Extra $30 for the Trident? Satan says it will only cost me my first born son, so no big deal. I also liked the G.Skill Perfect Storm memory? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231258
BigJoe5434
ask el kido how the Tridents perform, he is running a i7 920, and watercooled @4.6GHz with that memory at 2100 those perfect storms seem very good and good reviews too. on a side note, where can i sell my soul to the devil, whats an after life of hell compared to a wonderful life of fun? IntelGuy
After the PS 7-8-7's died, this was all G.Skill had to send (with a refund check for the difference): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231258 I honestly don't see any difference. BRB with an Everest.
el kido
I have these Tridents and they do pretty well. 9-9-9-24 @ 2100+ and after that its iffy at 1.65v. Im worried to ad voltage for ram i dont want to fry my chip. I do everyday pretty much at 21 x 180 and ram at 1800 @ 8-8-8-20. They do well.

KRAM
52% FSB oc So if I'm reading this correct IG, you're running the ram at stock advertised speed?
IntelGuy
52% is nothing. You should be able to get a lot more on the classified with a 920. The P6T I'm using is a little BCLK challenged. The 920 multi is 20, so at 4 GHz, (20 x 200) the memory is just hitting stock, which should leave some headroom for more CPU/BCLK overclocking.
KRAM
So the i7 920 can run 4Ghz daily?
IntelGuy
With good air or water. Check out what the 920's are getting with air: http://www.forumwars.us/scores.html 4GHz for 24/7 should be doable.
ctran503
hmm...i only purchased DDR3 1600...i dont think there are any really good ddr3 2000 sets out yet...and most of them are the higher profile...which i cannot use with my v10...so i had to go with the 1600... I went with a Corsair DDR3 1600 set....hope they o/c well...

So who knows...you are sure you got a D0 stepping? There seems to be quite a few batch A sets still floating around that dont o/c as well as the as the batch B...but its really just a luck of the draw... When i get in my build we will put our test up against each other okay? haha Edited September 22, 2009 by ctran503

terry1966
4ghz on the d0 no probs for 24/7 it doesn't need the volts increase my chip does, 1.375v (needs more now after wars ) just for 3.7ghz 100% stable with my chip. 19x195
KRAM
Note to self: No Forum Wars. I would be happy with 4Ghz 24/
