Making icons show up in system tray

By default, Windows 7 hides almost any icon that makes its home in the system tray, and it can be a pain to get them to show up again, since the process can be somewhat user unfriendly.

However, there is an easier way to get them to show up, instead of going through all that "customize" mumbo jumbo when clicking on the arrow in the system tray. Simply click on the arrow, and instead of clicking on customize, simply drag & drop the icons into the tray itself.

Customize works fine for me but this is a good one to know just the same. It is much faster than using the customize method.

The only question I have is if this changes the customize settings when you do it. So you drop an icon down onto the tray but does it change the settings for that icon in the customize menu when you go back in and look at it or does it affect it differently? Just curious about that.
