greasyfork13
Ok here's my current graphics card- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814131070 I was wondering how nice it is(for its bus and class etc.) compared to the other agp cards. Can someone give me a nice review of my card? It hasen't impressed me. I barely maintain 20fps on cod4. Im hopefully building a new pc soon as some of you may know but I was still wondering. el kido
It looks like it is doing the exact rate it should be. Its not the greatest or even the mildly decent of a card. You need a new system bad!

greasyfork13
X_C I would have one of those video cards or better IF I had a pci express slot. My computer is almost 7 years old. Showing me a bunch of new graphics cards that i've seen before wont help me any. Im getting this one for my new system- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814161269

greasyfork13
Thats the one the other people told me to get. But I will consider another. Can you suggest a better one for around the same price? I'd prefer ati but nvidia is fine too. Im just more familiar with ati.
AdamMAXIS
Whatever you do, just don't get that one as it is plagued with problems. There are a variety of other 4870s around the same price as the one you previously wanted. I suggest browsing them and reading what people have to say about them. Try to look for problem reviews that repeat the same issues consecutively in order to avoid purchasing a bad one such as the one you mentioned earlier.
porksandwich9113
J/W, why do you prefer ATI? Both companies make excellent products, and their competition gives us the best price/performance we can get. Can we know a little bit about your new system? What are the spec's? What resolution are you planning on playing games at? What games do you want to play? It's hard to recommend anything if you don't know what you need it to do. If COD4 is all you need to play a 4850 will allow you to go 1080p resolution, highest AA and AF no problems at all. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814161244 Edited July 12, 2009 by porksandwich9113
greasyfork13
http://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?showtopic=170346 That should help. Anyway, my mother plans on getting cod6(she plays cod too) when it comes out and I want to get left 4 dead so those are definitely games that I would want good fps on. I also like to record footage. I just dont know anything abotu nvidia cards. I've just always had an ati.
lugnut
As I wait for my new video card I have been using this one...ATI And Runs COD4 flawlessly and all games out there now (maybe expect Crysis on all high) I was pleasently surprised and it came down in price ALLOT!! I paid 149.. Just my 2 cents for a budget GPU Edited July 13, 2009 by lugnut
greasyfork13
My resolution is 1024x768. But that seems like a nice one indeed. I will add it to the wishlist.

brandon
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814150369 Ya can't really beat the 4770 when it comes to value. Or, you can get a 4850: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814127401 Using a 4870 @ 1024x768 is a total waste. Edited July 14, 2009 by brandon
AdamMAXIS
Or, you can get a 4850: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814127401 Quite a nice cooler for such a cheap card. I bet it's a great overclocker.
brandon
My 4870 has a cooler similar to that. It does a fantastic job.
AdamMAXIS
Yes, my 4890 has one that is similar as well and it keeps the card even cooler than my old two-slot 3870 was.
KRAM
Does MSI realize their logo is upside down when the card is installed? Unless you have one of those funky cases that mounts the mobo upside down.
brandon
I like WSI better than MSI. It has a nicer ring to it.
AdamMAXIS
I kind of like ISW myself.
