Id say dual...more options and presets as well as it looks like an old alpine model...

Both suck though..lol

First one is better.

3 sets of pre outs @ 2.5volts. vs 2 sets and 2 volts.

Kenwood usually sounds good. I havent been in the car audio field for a realllllly long time.

BUT anything that you are interested in.. you should go tot he store and take a listen.

For source units im stuck on Pioneer. Ive got one of the first OLED screens that has the screensavers that play on... going to infinity reference comps for the front (mids and highs) and a kenwood amp powering in mono 300rms two image dynamics 12" subs in my self made sealed box. It gets loud if i want to crank it....but sounds great for regular listening.

i had one of thoose amps, traded it for a 1000x4 american pro (or american audio, can't remember). decent little thing, got warm though.

always buy more amp than your speakers are rated for. sends a better signal without working as hard.

204? hmm you probably could have done a little better for the subs, 300 rms for the subs.

KICKER subs are very good, even there entry level subs are nice.

this are nicer subs and are 400watt RMS each, and they hit pretty hard. i would get these in a nice box, and 100watt amp (mono). and they would do you nice.

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=17398

but if you want them to hit the deeper notes you will spend more

kicker solo baric, the square ones, L7's those are very nice subs, and they hit really hard

yes it says 900watts "peak", never go by the peak wattage. allways go by the RMS wattage

RMS = constant use, last longer.

Peak = sure they can take the watts, but not for very long before they blow

the alpines = 900watts (300watts RMS)

those kickers = 800watts (400watts RMS)

hope this helps ya in the long haul

and by the way, im not saying the Alpines are bad, there not bad at all.

300watts each, you should use and amp 600watts or more

if you get close to the 1000rms line, i'd throw a cap or a better alternator and battery in with it. from experience you start to lose power at high volumes.

i second that, other wise you might see your headlights dim, and even seen them flicker a little to the beat :laughing::laughing:

the first one is a hair better on specs, but w/out reading research into what components are in them, i'd rate them as nearly the same unit.

there is NO cd player in thoose units either. they're made with ipod control in mind. can control a cd changer though

well, if you're CERTAIN you won't miss the ability to just pop in a cd from a friend or the store or whatever, then go for it

i personally don't buy used head units as i've seen the way some of these are installed originally and you could be buying a half blown unit. dunno either if it's a hot unit (stolen). new also comes with a warranty. if it were like 60 or less, i'd say go for it, but at the price of a brand new retail unit, iwouldn't even consider it.

something you can do is look on the web for better deals. when i got my fiance's head unit, just a dual but good enough, crutchfield had it at around 100, ended up getting it from a smaller online company for less than 60 shipped. just look around for deals.

http://www.sbhcorp.com/scripts/homeViewItem-2077.html don't know about shipping though

to be honest Dual is not bad, i mean if your wanting to just enjoy your music with a decent set of speakers and subs...go for it...you will be happy with it.

but if you are wanting to shatter windows, with awesome clearity, and flex windows with that bass... then you will be spending money for good competion hardware

i loved the dual after i got it in. didn't have any subs in that plymouth breeze either, lol, but i would rate a lot higher than it, clarion, kenwood, blaupunkt (upper line), pioneer (upper line like the kamelean),,,,,, never liked the sony units, and sorry, but i think the alpines have been ugly for years, lol!

so went to pick up the subs the dude let me listen to them and man they hit hard! they sound rly rly good can hear them from down the street and they wernt even turned up that loud (also that amp i posted that wasnt the amp he had he has a newer unit that lets you control all your bass and everything on the amp ill post it up in a few) anyway so i get home and thru it in with my crappy Dual Cd player (that 22Wat one lol) and it sounds bad lol and i know its becuase of my Cd player but any way i found this CD player at best buy for 100$ think this would be a better deal then those alpines? i seems they have the same sound output to http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113MP242/Kenw...42.html?tp=5684

here is that amp i got that came with the subs http://www.crutchfield.com/S-kqWl2kYU4IH/p...e-MRD-M500.html is this one better then the one i posted before
