C,

I'm afraid you muddy the waters.

Dope and incense are not the same thing, although they may have a vaguely similar provenance.

One toke over the line sweet Jesus

One toke over the line

Sittin' downtown in a railway station

One toke over the line

Awaitin' for the train that goes home, sweet Mary

Hopin' that the train is on time

Sittin' downtown in a railway station

One toke over the line

Whoooo do you love, I hope it's me

I've bin a changin', as you can plainly see

I felt the joy and I learned about the pain that my momma said

If I should choose to make a part of me, surely strike me dead

Now I'm one toke over the line sweet Jesus

One toke over the line

Sittin' downtown in a railway station

One toke over the line

I'm waitin' for the train that goes home sweet Mary

Hopin' that the train is on time

Sittin' downtown in a railway station

One toke over the line

I sail away a country mile,

Now I'm returnin' showin' off a smile

I met all the girls and loved myself a few

Ended by surprise like everything else I've been through

It opened up my eyes and now I'm

One toke over the line sweet Jesus

One toke over the line

Sittin' downtown in a railway station

Don't you just know I waitin' for the train that goes home sweet Mary

Hopin' that the train is on time

Sittin' downtown in a railway station

One toke over the line

Don't you just know I waitin' for the train that goes home sweet Mary

Hopin' that the train is on time

Sittin' downtown in a railway station

One toke over the line

I want to be

One toke over the line sweet Jesus

One toke over the line

Sittin' downtown in a railway station

One toke over the line

Don't you just know I waitin' for the train that goes home sweet Mary

Hopin' that the train is on time

Sittin' downtown in a railway station

One toke over the line

Sittin' downtown in a railway station

One toke over line

One toke, one toke over the line

What a dwee joke. Canadians have been possessing and smoking pot with smaller and smaller penalties ever since the rise of BC Bud proved the imported War on Drugs is obviously untenable, downright aggravating and frankly belligerent, as it always has been.

I agree.....It has become less of a Legal Issue....MARIJUANA OFFENDERS CAN SEEK PARDONS

600,000 Could See Privileges Restored And Records Sealed

The federal government is inviting as many as 600,000 Canadians who have

criminal records for possessing small amounts of marijuana to apply for

federal pardons.

Justice officials offered the enticement yesterday as their political

bosses introduced legislation to decriminalize possession of less than 15

grams of marijuana, so that people would be ticketed rather than slapped

with a criminal record.

But if the Liberal bill becomes law, the government has no plans to grant a

general amnesty, as recommended last year by a Senate committee that said

Canada should legalize cannabis possession.

Rather, people convicted of possession can send $50 and an application to

the National Parole Board for their names to be cleared.

"It doesn't erase the fact that you've been convicted of a criminal

offence, but it seals the record," explained board spokesman John

Vandoremalen.

"It basically gives you privileges, it allows you to apply for jobs and

things like that where the hurdles normally appear."

The chances of being pardoned are excellent: only one to two per cent of

applications are denied. As a result, the government has granted 277,000

pardons since 1970 and only three per cent have been revoked for reasons

like lying on the application or having another brush with the law.

Although there has been nothing up until now to prevent people convicted of

marijuana possession from applying, not many people know about the program,

said Mr. Vandoremalen.

It can take up to five years to receive a pardon after a person applies,

and a request cannot be made until three years after a person has completed

their sentence or has otherwise fulfilled their penalty.

It takes even longer for people convicted of more serious crimes in which

the maximum penalty exceeds a $2,000 fine and six months in jail.

Mr. Vandoremalen said that Canada's human rights laws do not allow

employers to discriminate against people who have received pardons.

However, they don't guarantee entry into other countries.

Pardoned people, for instance, must make subsequent applications with U.S.

authorities for travel to the United States, a prospect that could be

problematic given the Bush administration's warnings about cracking down on

people with drug convictions.

The Canadian Centre for Drug Abuse estimates that as many as 600,000

Canadians have criminal records for marijuana possession, many from the

1960s and 1970s.

Mr. Vandoremalen said he does not know how many pardons already have been

granted for marijuana possession, since the government does not record a

breakdown.

"I imagine there is a significant number," he said.

Replace "drugs" with "alcohol" ...what is the difference

You can get higher faster with a joint. ;)

An argument can be made that alcohol is far worse for you, yet it is legal. I would venture a guess that many in the anti pot group frequent their local pub and tie one on every so often.Posted Image

I just don't understand the fuss about marijuana. I smoked pot in my youth (up to about my late 20's) and no harm resulted from it. I no longer smoke it but I have no problem with it. ;)

One point against legalizing Mary Jane, that crops up again and again is that it might/would be a 'gateway' to nastier stuff.

Yes.....There's all kinds of studies to support that possibility...

Although, I don't believe all Tokers will run to the powder or rock...I do believe...Many Do..

CASA's analysis reveals:

Children who use marijuana are 85 times more likely to use cocaine than non-marijuana users. (Ninety percent of children who used marijuana smoked or drank first.)

Children who drink are 50 times more likely to use cocaine than non-drinkers.

Children who smoke are 19 times more likely to use cocaine than nonsmokers.

The CASA study also links the use of gateway drugs by children with subsequent regular use of illicit substances as adults:

Adults who used marijuana as children are 17 times more likely to be regular cocaine users. (Ninety-one percent of adults who used marijuana as children smoked or drank first.)

Adults who drank as children are six times more likely to be regular cocaine users.

Ya.....Quick Pic....LOL!!

Here's one that is a 2003 gig..:)

A study in the Jan. 22 Journal of the American Medical Association offers powerful new evidence that using marijuana as a teen-ager increases your risk of using harder drugs and becoming an alcoholic later in life, the researchers say.

Lynskey, Ph.D., a visiting assistant professor of psychiatry, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Mo., and senior research fellow, Queensland Institute of Medical Research, Brisbane, Australia.; Paul Armentano, senior policy analyst, NORML, Washington, D.C.; Jan. 22, 2003, Journal of the American Medical Association

The researchers interviewed 311 sets of same-sex twins from Australia

If the percentages sound high, it's because of the way the study subjects were chosen, explains Michael Lynskey, the lead author of the study and a visiting assistant professor of psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo.

To be included in the study, at least one twin had to admit to having used marijuana before the age of 17.

So the results would be higher than percentages for the general population because both twins would have a higher vulnerability to drug or alcohol abuse because of shared genetic, familial, environmental and socioeconomic factors, Lynskey says

try again

I don't think its a "need" thing.... its a "choice"...

same as people choose to drink because of the effect it has on them or they like the taste....same reason people choose to smoke pot....the effect....and maybe the taste.....

Because pale, it gives me the same rush body building gives you. It gets me away from crap that I just dont feel like thinking about on a friday night.

It gave me a bit more patience with my kids when My grandmother was dying. It gave me strength to get through a day watching her lay pale white and pasty in her bed.

Not everyone in this world uses it everyday all day and is a freaken looser. Its narrow minded people who make it seems that way.

Dont you, or anyone sit there on your high goody two-shoes horses and try and make someone, anyone who contributes quite well to society feel like a looser. We are not. And you know what, we will be the first to help the heroine addict or bag-lady on the street, because we dint have out heads stuck up our butts.

I gotta go now. My dander is way up now.

I will probably come back and regret typing this, but thats what is going threw my head right now.

And why do you *need* to lift weights?

No one needs drugs or alcohol. But studies have actually found that moderate use of both are benefitial to ones health and well being.

Not everyone gets high on life alone Pale. Some people need other means to unwind. And they ain't going around killing people, burning down buildings or snorting cocaine as a result of it. ;)

I thought that the movie "Reefer Madness" was produced in the 1930, not the 21st century.
