luvpats
If anyone can help me I would sure appreciate the advice.I scanned a written document (no picture just words-it was a letter). Saved it as a .bmp file (because it scanned better although I can save it as a .tif file) and then I copied and pasted it into Word and saved it in Word. Now how do I go about making that document a true .doc where I can edit the written text and get rid of the "picture" format??I could not save the file in Word using the .tif extension only using the .bmp extension. If anyone has the directions to convert I would sure appreciate the advice.Thank you. Bruce
You can't convert it to an editable word document. You need to scan the file with OCR software and save it as a text document. Not sure why you posted this in the web site section you would have gotten better answers in user 2 user. markcynt
As far as I can tell, Bruce is right. I checked around for about 30 minutes trying to find something to help you and found nothing. Your best bet is to follow Bruce's advice or, like one2gamble says, start typing. Mark
strukt
There isn't a way to "convert" an image file with type to a document file. Like Bruce said, "start typing".
Doug
Though the original poster has been competently answered long ago and any "moderating" at this time is too-little-too-late, I'm still going to move this thread over to U2U so as to benefit any folks who may later use "search" function to find this or other related topics.
