Test is crashing at "Checking cookies"

Recommended Posts

My PC is doing something quite different than what I have seen in this post. Just before the test does "Checking Cookies" I get an error box as follows:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IExlplore.exe

This application has requested the RunTime to terminate in an unusual Way!

At that point I have no other option than to say OK and IE will than close and take me back to the desk Top

I have tried running the tests in the debug mode with no sucess. The following applications are running in the background:

Browser Helper Objects Installed

SSVHelper Class

Running Applications by Window Title

It is "normal" to have many strangely named windows on this list. Do not post questions about this information unless requested by the support staff.

I have run windows update, turned off any pop up/ad blockers amd made sure the security level is set at medium. I have run many prior tests including full tests in Jan, Feb and Mar of this year. Any Ideas what might be causing this problem???

Hi.

The tests ran fine for me while it was in "beta" but now that its out of beta I'm having exactly the same problem. When it gets to the "cookies" test it crashes Internet Explorer and I'm back to the desktop.

I really don't think its my computer... it must be something to do with the new code when being run on certain configurations.

I tried turning off ZoneAlarm and Kaspersky AV... no change, still crashes at checking cookies.

I hope that someone who gets the fix for this worked out soon replies to my post.

Regards, David

Testing on two different computers display same error in cookie checking test.

Runtime Error!

Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

Please contact the application's support team for more information.

The old test worked yesterday before the beta was released.

The difference is the cookie checking test. Plus whatever the beta

additions were.

We've made some changes and think that the issue may be fixed.

Download, unzip, and run the uninstall tool from this link:

http://pcpitstop.com/utilities/Remove-PCPitstop.zip

Once that completes, try running the test again. It should ask to install a new Active X control before running the test.

Please let us know if the issue persists.

BTW something interesting happened which I discovered. I use MSN Messenger.

From MSN Messenger I can check my email inbox (hotmail) with a link when I click the

Messenger Icon in the system tray. After the test I could not get the link to open the

hotmail. So what normally happens is an IE opens in my hotmail inbox. No ie opened.

just a bit more info for you.

Thanks,

Bob

Are you still working on the problem or has a solution been announced that I've missed. The tests hang in exactly the same place regardless of the machine and/or browser I use.

By any chance do any of you have Firefox installed, but have never used it?

Thanks.

Hi. Here is my sequence of events. My tests were running fine this morning. Due to part of the results, I purchased "Erace". I went back to scan my system & got the error when it came to "checking cookies".

I did this:

Download, unzip, and run the uninstall tool from this link:

http://pcpitstop.com/utilities/Remove-PCPitstop.zip

I tried testing again & it's now been hung up on "checking processor" for about 15 minutes.

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. :h3lp:

Thanks

Why is it that PC pit stop says something is free then you download and run the program, to only find out that you have to pay for IT??????

That is a contradictory of term and you want me to support PC pitstop????????
