IE Browser

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a little problem at work... I'm running XP pro on a client/server set-up. Sometime today the admin has changed the settings so I can't delete the browser history (he's obviously trying to catch me surfing in office hours - it was working 1st thing today).

Before I left work this evening I discovered what he'd done and panicked. I have local admin access so can delete cookies etc. manually but can't get the addresses out of IEs address bar. Is there a local folder that contains these that I can empty manually or am I buggered?

Help please - I'm going into work tomorrow (out of character for me on a Sat!). No porn, luckily!

Thanks in advance,

Right click Internet Explorer icon, select properties, content tab, auto complete button. Uncheck web addresses. ( I have nothing checked in mine) Should take care of the problem.

Thanks, but will it clear today's problems? I've been surfing half of the afternoon (only BBC News, my BTYahoo! email and searching about BT's traffic-throttling policy, so nothing too dodgy. I'm worrying about today's time-stamps, that's my main concern. I called this guy the "Admin" but we're a small company and he was just the best of a bad bunch with IT! I can usually out-fox him :-)

I was thinking that the history is in a local folder somewhere > delete it > synchronise with server > done!...

Or isn't it that easy?

Ta,

Download AFT Cleaner for XP, then tick select all, then empty selected.
