(f.i. your desktop) Navigate to the saved installer. Double click the installer. Clicknext to start the install: Read the License Agreement and click Yes to accept it: You can read some extra information about the install, then click next: Now you can add your personal username. Click next to continue the install: By default, folding@home will be installed in C:\Program Files\Folding@Home. Click Browse to install it in another map of your choice. Click next to continue (for most users, the proposed map will be allright): Allow the installer to create the new directory by clicking yes Just another next: Now you have provided all the needed information, the installation will start after you click next: When the installation is finished, you can view the Readme and start the application by clicking next In your taskbar, you will notice a new red icon. This is the icon of the Folding@Home application. We need to configure the client. Rightclick the red Foldingicon and choose Configure...: Usertab: Check whether your username is correct. Change if necessary. Make sure you add the Team number 32035. Connectiontab:'Ask before using network': Could be usefull if you are on dialup. Don't use the Internet Explorer settings If you are behind a Proxy, add the required information. If you aren not sure, dont check this box. The 'Allow receipt of...', should be checked if you have a good system with enough memory. Advancedtab:'Scientific core': Here you can set the core priority. This settings should be Ok as shown here. 'Power': Only to be used when folding with a laptop 'Deadlines': Be sure to set this to standard, as shown below. After closing the 'configure'tabs, doubleclick the red foldingicon... I'm working on a USB stick, that can be figured on XP machine. Using Notfred's guide. His didn't work to well, and I got it going. Gave him the info, so he can post on his site. It would be great if you could send the definitive version to me. No problem to add pics in it. I'm now working an a guide for the console version. Hope to have it online later this evening.
