brandon
How are the temps of the 3850, and have you ventured into overclocking? You'll be able to get to 3870 speeds no prob, based on what I have seen. Edited January 11, 2008 by brandon
badbinary
not sure about the temps, catalyst says zero degrees. so, either my computer is running at below freezing, or it's not reading the temp. the card i got has the core already clocked at 720, i haven't tried overclocking any more than that yet. badbinary
wait, there we go. it's showing temp right now as 43.
brandon
I wish I could use overdrive. But alas, I do not have an 8 pin connector. Oh well, I'll just stick with stock speeds until ATITool manages to bypass Punkvirus. The highest I've gotten mine is 800. You've only got 55Mhz to go, and you've got a 3870. Great temps too. The cooler on that thing rocks. Edited January 11, 2008 by brandon

badbinary
okay, that 48 was under load. it's 40 with no load.

brandon
AMD did a hell of a job with the 38 series, even though it's basically a die-shrunk 2900.
brandon
Be aware that anti-aliasing is the 29, and 38 series' weakpoint, due to how they currently handle anti-aliasing.
