AGP video card needed

Recommended Posts

I have two different recommendations, so I need one more. My PC

P4 2.8 HT, Asus P4P800Deluxe, 512MB Corsair XMS, Enermax 350W, Maxtor 120GB Sata 7200rpm, Nec & LiteOn DVDs,, Radeon 9500, my 1st build, XP Home SP2

I guess GeForce GT was a great card

(1) 6600GT, a 6800GT probably needs a bigger PSU

(2) 7600GT would work just fine (it looks like the best for the buck)

or is it to be a third? Thank you

Yes, I would say a bigger PS, but also, more memory.

Since it seems you are into DVDs, why not go with an HD2600.

To me it plays games fine. I max out BF2 (#1 game), and can play

Crysis ok. I don't care about all the fancy stuff, and no need to max to me.

I can't tell the difference anyway.

If its mainly gaming, I would go with the 1950GT.

Definitely go for the 7600.

I just ordered the EVGA 7600GS for my system. This will be the last hurrah for my AGP system. Hope it's good :P $85 after a $15 mail in rebate, price was right to me.

Hope you got the new card because your 6800GT is dying, as the 7600GS is slower all around,

A 7600GT would have been a step up, but whether the extra is worth it or not (5-10% faster maybe),

is debatable.

Oh, now you show me where the comparison Site is at :rofl2: Actually, yea I fried my 6800GT a few months ago and have been limping along with my TI4600. I debated on the GT and actually had the 7800GS in mind as well, then I thought nope, for once I'm only going to get a card I know will play my current games and OC a bit here and there. I need to save up and build a new system one of these days with PCI-E, at least a Dual Core, etc., etc. the list is long. :pullhair:
