too many processes?

I was just wondering how come I have so many processes running. There are 64 to 66 at any one time. I have a Windows Vista installed and I am not sure how to go about finding out what I can stop running and where. Thank-You in advance for your replies. I have dial up, so I want the least amount running as not to slow it down more. :h3lp:

Sweetpotato this is a good start,

http://www.tweakhound.com/vista/tweakguide/index.htm

you don't need to follow it to the letter, but a lot of his tweaks help. Then id you want to tackle it a little further here,

just make sure to read what each service is for and whether it is something you really need or not.

Once you've performed the tweaks mentioned in stormy's post, why not update your TechExpress link (yours has expired), then we can take a look and possibly make more recommendations... ;) -kd5-
