Optimize or Registry Mechanic?

Recommended Posts

I just ran both Optimize and Registry Mechanic. Optimize found 527 registry errors. Registry Mechanic found 1,282 errors of various kinds. Most of the RM errors were "file extension invalid" or "value invalid." Which program is best? And how much do they cost. I'd like to know before I decide.

Both products have a registry cleaner but Optimize also tunes your internet settings, cleans up your hard drive of junk files and also adjusts some Windows registry settings to improve your overall system performance. Registry Mechanic has a very deep registry cleaner. It will clean up many more registry errors that Optimize does not find. We designed Optimize to look for very specific registry errors so that it would run fast. A deep registry cleaning takes a very long time. I would recommend running Optimize weekly or monthly when you want a quick cleaning and Registry Mechanic periodically when you want a more thorough cleaning.

Here are some FAQ's about what Optimize can do: http://www.pcpitstop.com/faq/optimize.asp

And as a reminder, Optimize comes with a 30-day 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee.

The price for Optimize is $29.99 for the License key. If you want a backup CD it is an additional $9.99 + $3.00 shipping, for a total of $42.98.

Registry Mechanic is not our product. Their pricing can be found here:
